Shade Tested: Napa Valley, Aries, Hypno (pictured)
Prep: As with all matte lipsticks, it’s best to exfoliate and moisturize your lips prior to application.
Application: I’m loving the sponge applicator on this lipstick as it’s very similar to the one on Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick. It’s easy to get a clearly defined line and there’s no need to resort to a lip brush. The color goes on opaque in one swipe.
Wear: This matte is extremely creamy and doesn’t dry out the lips, and damned if that isn’t a hell of a selling point. If you press your lips together it feels like you’re wearing regular tube lipstick — you get that slight tacky feeling. I’m not overly fond of this as I like liquid lipsticks that dry completely. It wears for 10+ hours, but does need touch-ups every few hours due to transfer. After about 6 hours of wear, you start to get little crumblies in the cornier of your lips, which is pretty uncomfortable.
Removal: Regular makeup remover will take this off !
I love, love, love the colors OFRA offers, and this lipstick is one of the best I’ve tested. It takes third place in my top favorite liquid lipsticks! It would be higher if not for the fact that it doesn’t dry completely. Also, those little crumblies really piss me off.
